Top 5 best alternative places to travel this summer

Moscow, Russia

Moscow

The Capital of Russia, one of the most powerful countries in the world, but also one of the most beautiful. Not top of many people’s bucket lists but you should definitely consider a trip to the Motherland this summer if you want to stray away from the crowd.

  • Red Square
  • St. Basil’s Cathedral
  • Moscow Kremlin
  • Bolshoi Theatre
  • Moscow by Night private tour

Nuremberg, Germany

Nuremberg

Nuremberg, one of Germany’s lesser known city’s. This was suggested to me by Jack over at The Alpha Directory. It has wonderful architecture and is steeped in history.

What to do?

  • Dokumentationszentrum Reichsparteitagsgelaende
  • Alstadt
  • Nazi Rally Sites
  • St. Lorenz Church
  • Nuremberg Toy Museum

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Ljubljana

Slovenia is starting to become the new  up and comer in the travel scene with lots of people trying out lake Bled, one of the most picturesque locations I have ever seen. Ljubljana is one of the most interesting places to visit in Slovenia and very tourist friendly considering it is only in its relative infancy when it comes to travel & tourism.

What to do?

  • Ljubljana old town
  • Lake Bled tours
  • Food & Wine walking tours
  • Triple Bridge
  • Preseren square

Valencia, Spain

Valencia

A little bit more of a mainstream one here but still not Spain’s main tourism attraction. If you want to avoid the masses then try out this coastal city with lots to offer in terms of beaches, weather, food and more.

What to do?

  • Central market
  • Paella cooking classes
  • Church of San Nicolas
  • Oceanografic
  • City of Arts & Sciences

Tuscany, Italy

Tuscany

A personal favourite. I’ve been in love with Italy ever since I visited Rome when I was younger. The lifestyle over there is one of the most enviable in my opinion and the Italian way of living has many benefits such as reduced stress, healthier heart function and general longer lifespans. Tuscany is one of Italy’s most beautiful regions with rolling hills and ancient architecture.

What to do?

  • Piazza del Duomo
  • Basilica San Miniato al Monte
  • Florence vineyard cheese & Wine tasting
  • Self-driven Fiat 500 tour
  • Castello Monteriggioni

So there you have it, five alternative destinations to head to this summer. A bit of food for thought before you head to the same all inclusive 3-star hotel for the fourth year in a row.
