Album of the Month July ’17

The album

Hotel California by Eagles

Sticking with the summery feel of last month’s pick, this album is one of my favourite summer night plays. There’s something relaxing about listening to the entirety of Hotel California through the sunset. I know that sounds so cliche but it’s true and it’s great. The album is nigh on perfect for me and definitely in my top 15 of all time. A lesser known fact about the album that resonates with me is the theme of the environment and how as a race, we are ruining paradise. In the song ‘Last Resort’ this is prevalent and highlights how we need to change if we are to carry on.

Best song on the album

My favourite song on this album may not be the most popular but Victim of Love gets this accolade from me. I do love a good ol’ ballad and this one just ticks all the boxes for me.

Overall I’d give the album a 9/10. As it’s sold over 32 million copies I’d assume a lot of people agree with me on that too. Take a listen below and see what you think.
