Canali: Discussing one of Italy’s finest tailors

Today I am delighted to present to you a collaboration with esteemed Italian Men’s fashion powerhouse, Canali. A few weeks ago, in my classic clothing article, I gave my opinion on some of the essentials that should populate every man’s wardrobe. In this article I recommended a classic thin jumper from Canali. They seemed to like what they saw on this article – and the rest of the site as they reached out to me for this wonderful collaboration opportunity.

So now with a little essential bit of back story out the way, let’s get straight into it.

Canali fella

Canali was founded in 1934 by The Canali Family, in none other than my favourite country in the world, Italy. The fact that an entire family created, owned and still own the business today is rare in the modern age and is something that to me, really gives this brand some personality. Starting in humble beginnings just outside of Milan, Canali has grown through the years to where it is now. It is in the hands of the third generation of The Canali’s and is a mainstay in fashion culture all around the world – even stretching as far as the Middle East & China.

Doing my research it became apparent that this is one seriously interesting company that definitely warrants further investigation. But alas, I would rather display their impeccable gear with you all instead. So without further ado, here are some of my favourite pieces and some style tips from Canali themselves on how to look as damn good in their garms as humanly possible.

My first pick has to be the suits. Canali are notorious for immaculate tailoring and their suits of are of the highest degree. Rocking a tailored Canali suit is a guaranteed head turner wherever you go. My pick of their tailoring comes in the form of this fantastic blue pinstripe three-piece.

Canali says – “Our version for the season features tone on tone chalk stripes in a bright blue shade that adds a contemporary feel to the look. A double-breasted vest complements a two-button jacket and flat-front pants, rich with particular details, together representing an homage to a timeless kind of elegance”.

I am a huge fan of polo shirts, you can wear them with jeans, smart trousers and even shorts. They’re the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe and I wear them pretty much all the time. Canali has a fantastic collection of polos on offer but the pick of the bunch for me is their elegant navy blue cotton offering (can you tell I like blue clothes yet?).

Canali says – “Transitional seasons signal the arrival of unpredictable weather and sudden changes in temperature, turning simple wardrobe choices into daily dilemmas, especially when travelling. Our selection of sophisticated and versatile pieces allows you to master the art of layering”.

Finally, a new offering from Canali is their sportier range. This range is aptly named ‘Impeccable‘ and most certainly lives up to its name. This specific silo is stain resistant, wrinkle free & eco-friendly. It is an extremely clever process and is nothing like anything I’ve seen before. It’s certainly ideal for someone as clumsy as me and who is always on the go.

Canali says – “Maintaining a refined look is just as important as attaining it for the modern-day man who is always on the go. The Impeccable line accomplishes just that, offering up a balanced blend of style, sophistication and versatility in suits and blazers that keep you looking impeccable from morning to night”.

As you can see, the Canali brand is one of serious pedigree. If Canali is a brand that you want to see more of and potentially invest in then you can buy straight from their company website.
